The project for sculpture includes the project drawing, which is signed and dated at the bottom, and the photo of the final realization. The work belongs to the series of Nodes, realized both as sculptures and as drawings. Of this sculpture, the first realization was made in bronze in 1987, and is exhibited at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Paris; the project presented here is later, from 1993, and reproduces the same work but made of forged and lacquered steel, and is exhibited in Munich; a third Grand noeud, also in bronze, is in Kansas City.
